Innu Nikamu takes place in the Mani-utenam First Nation reserve, near Sept-Iles in eastern Canada.

Since 1985, Innu Nikamu has been held on the first weekend of August. The 40th edition of the festival will take place from July 30 to August 4, 2024.

Absolutely. Drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited on the site and in the festival parking lot, and this will always be the case.

Yes, it is an all-ages, family-friendly, and intergenerational event. Children aged 0-11 are admitted for free on the site.

Innu Nikamu can be translated in two ways:

  • The Innu sing;
  • To sing in the Innu language (innu-aimun).

The programming team contacts artists directly. If you wish to introduce yourself to our programming team, please send your complete information to festival@innunikamu.ca.

We provide an application form in the spring.

Unless it is an exceptional storm similar to a hurricane, the shows will take place as scheduled on the festival site.

The weather in Mani-Utenam can be very unpredictable at that time of year, ranging from chilly days to heatwaves. Temperatures can also drop quickly when night falls. Please bring warm clothing as a precaution.

In addition to having our own team of trained security personnel, we work closely with the police department to ensure the safety of our festival-goers. Furthermore, a nurse is available for anyone in distress, equipped for first aid and cardiac resuscitation.

Unless you obtain a booth in advance, selling products on our site is prohibited. Additionally, peddling and selling in our parking lot are strictly forbidden.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to accommodate all dietary restrictions in the woods, on the North Shore, 14 hours from Montreal. That said, it is possible to find something that suits your dietary restrictions in the supermarkets of Sept-Iles.

For now, there are only the well-known portable toilets. However, we are working on it.
